Online Registration Opened for AMA Vintage Grand Championship
Online registration has been opened to allow amateur motorcycle racers to enter the 2012 American Motorcyclist Association Vintage Grand Championships. The races will take place during the three-day AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days held at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio from July 20 to 22.
Races in all categories can take advantage of pre-entry by registering online. Moreover, the racers can also access information about class structures, race rules and schedules online. AMA Vintage Grand Championships run the gamut from hare scrambles, trials, motocross and road racing. Pre-entry fees are at $40 per class in the off-road and motocross categories and from $70 to $80 for road race pre-entries. Dirt track racing is $30 for pre-entry.
The hare scrambles, trials, dirt-bike and motocross races are open to racers aged more than 12 years old. Road racers have got to be at least 18 years of age to compete.
The AMA is excited about the upcoming races. AMA Director of Racing Joe Bromley said, “Vintage racing is accessible, laid back and some of the most fun you can have on a motorcycle. We’re proud to elevate this unique style of racing with national championship recognition at the premier vintage motorcycling event in America — AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days. For both casual participants and hard-core vintage racers, we not only welcome your participation, your support of the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame also helps preserve the legacy motorcycling for future generations.”
